This is a Father's Day re-post, full of fun and yummy ideas for your own Father's Day get together. Enjoy!
We played host at an impromptu Father's Day party yesterday for my parents, brother, and sister-in-law.
You might remember seeing my dad and brother mentioned on my site before. They're a little bit awkward.

Our kitchen, almost ready to party.
(Not shown: A pre-photo shoving frenzy of knick-knacks anywhere and everywhere out of sight. I can never find anything after I "clean" the house.)
Sexy Nerd gathered some flowers from our backyard, eventually. Every time company is coming over, without fail, he lounges around lazily while I frantically cook/clean/decorate/panic. I get mad at him, he's bewildered with no idea what's wrong, then he finally, FINALLY helps get things ready.
It's our own little party tradition.
The half wall dividing our living and dining rooms served as a convenient beverage station.
But something was missing...
Oh, I know!
An obscene amount of strawberry mango juice. I can never resist the urge to fill the Vitamix to the top.
We also had cold-brewed iced coffee, sweetened with condensed milk, which was so simple to make and a big hit. Every last drop was gone before I tried it.
A lit candle is the official Party Time! symbol.
I picked out 6 of the most summery plates from my Noritake Floral Accent Plate collection, which has been added to since that original blog post because I didn't have enough, obviously.
I've been very good about not buying any new dishes lately. Sexy Nerd says the cupboard is going to collapse under the weight and I'm not sure if he's serious or joking.

Grab a plate and help yourself to:
Zucchini, Cucumber, and Basil Salad with Havarti
Organic Corn and Radish Salad
Southwestern Baked Macaroni Salad...admittedly not the most photogenic food. Tasty though!
Pica must have been able to sense that my sister-in-law, Joanna, isn't crazy about dogs. There were 5 people at the party who would have been fine with Pica sitting at their feet, but she wouldn't budge from Joanna's side. It's a jerk russell thing.
For our main course, Sexy Nerd cooked up a giant, homemade pizza. There was also a bag of Buffalo Wing Pretzel Crisps, provided by my brother and his wife, which were delicious!
For dessert, Sexy Nerd whipped up a batch of yellow cake batter ice cream to go along with some strawberry jam I'd made on Saturday.
There were homemade ginger cookies as well. You know, just in case anyone was still hungry. Somehow, we managed to eat them all. I'm thinking that a salad sounds good for my next meal the rest of my life.
Happy Father's Day, everyone!
P.S.
