Dreaming of a farm-to-table experience on an actual farm? Sexy Nerd and I have discovered Field & Vine, an Oregon company that hosts special dinners and events.

A Night of Culinary Connection and Wine-Fueled Friendships
Last July, on a quest to conquer Oregon's wonders and combat adulting fatigue, we stumbled upon the "Dinner in the Field" event at Marion Acres hosted by Field & Vine. This wasn't your average dinner party; it was a celebration of local bounty, exceptional wines, and the joy of finding kindred spirits over shared plates.
Surrounded by friendly faces and glasses filled with Suzor wines, we indulged in a multi-course masterpiece showcasing the heart and soul of Marion Acres. It wasn't just about the food; it was about the entire experience.
Marion Acres: From Humble Beginnings to Farm Fresh Heroes: Learning about Marion Acres' journey, from a simple dream to becoming full-fledged farmers on a sprawling 47-acre plot, was truly inspiring. Their dedication to ethical practices and raising happy, healthy animals resonated deeply with us.
Photos from our Dinner in the Field:
Sexy Nerd and I thoroughly enjoyed the company of our table mates, especially as the evening progressed. The wine seemed to have a mind of its own, perpetually refilling our glasses. Strange coincidence and not at all related to our sudden extroversion. We discovered that we had a surprising amount in common with the two couples seated near us. Remarkably, one even has a home sauna, just like us, which is not very common (or maybe it's just not in New Mexico but is in Oregon and we just have no idea?). This blew our minds at the time, but seems less wild as I type this. Weird how wine works.
Feeling an instant connection, we eagerly extended an invitation for them to stay with us when they ventured to The Land of Enchantment, suggesting they join us for the Santa Fe Wine + Chile Fiesta. They graciously accepted, and they took our contact information so that we can reunite through social media.
The next day, we opened our Facebook and Instagram accounts to see our new friends. Nothing.
The mystery of their vanishing act only deepened as each passing day yielded no trace of them. Could it be that our memorable evening together was simply a fleeting dream, a whimsical tale spun by the enchanting power of wine and camaraderie? We may never know, but the memory of our time together under the Oregon stars remains a cherished one, albeit tinged with a hint of bemusement.
